Lesedi Ntsane – Trumpet & Composer
Lesedi Ntsane is a South African-born trumpeter, composer, and bandleader whose musical journey spans church brass bands, formal classical and jazz training, and international performance stages. A graduate of Tshwane University of Technology and the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music in New York, Lesedi has performed with legendary artists and ensembles including the O’Jays, Violent Femmes, Phatt Brass Big Band, and Jazz at Lincoln Center’s WebOP Educational Program. His music reflects a life shaped by discipline, collaboration, and a deep love for storytelling through sound.
Brethew van Schalkwyk – Keyboards
Brethew van Schalkwyk is a highly respected Cape Town-based keyboardist known for his sensitivity, harmonic depth, and stylistic versatility. Equally at home in jazz, soul, and contemporary music, Brethew is a sought-after collaborator whose playing brings warmth, texture, and emotional clarity to every performance.
Sibusiso Matsimela – Bass
Sibusiso Matsimela is a dynamic bassist with a strong grounding in jazz and contemporary African music. Renowned for his solid groove, melodic sensibility, and intuitive ensemble playing, Sibusiso anchors the music with both rhythmic strength and lyrical finesse.
Bonolo Nkoane – Drums
Bonolo Nkoane is an expressive and versatile drummer whose playing combines precision, musicality, and deep listening. Known for his ability to shape dynamics and mood, Bonolo brings both drive and subtlety, making him an essential voice in modern South African jazz ensembles.

Bheki Khoza – Guitar
Bheki Khoza is one of KwaZulu-Natal’s leading left-handed jazz guitarists, celebrated for his soulful tone, compositional depth, and deep African jazz sensibility. A respected composer and educator, his music bridges tradition and contemporary expression with effortless mastery.
Moses Nkuna is a 30-year-old bassist whose sound is rooted in soul, discipline, and a deep commitment to musical growth. Born and raised in Pimville, Johannesburg, his musical journey began in the church, where he developed a strong foundation, sharp instincts, and an expressive approach to the bass that continues to shape his artistry.
Jermaine Jacobs – Drums
Jermaine Jacobs is a versatile and respected Cape Town drummer, admired for his dynamic control, swing, and attentive musicality. His drumming provides both drive and subtlety, making him a favourite collaborator on the local jazz scene.
